Wham!

From right to left: Fantastic, Make It Big, Music From The Edge Of Heaven, Wham! The Final

Shortly summed up: George was in his late teens, and as most people that age, he wanted fame and fortune. So he formed a band with his best friend Andrew Ridgeley.

[Comment: Now, that's what I call gorgeous.]

Wham! had lots of great songs, but the two I guess most people remember is "Wake me up before you go-go" and "Last Christmas". The videos are rememberable too... "Wake me up..." for its stupidity (in a sweet way) and "Last Christmas" for the story and for being a hit every x-mas - year after year...

But still, Wham had another great video where you see all you want to see... and possibly more than you really wish for... George and Andy are running round in small swimmingtrunks (George has the smallest...*grin*)

[Comment: Three words: OH-MY-GOD! The white fabric in contrast to his tanned skin does not draw your attention to certain places, does it? Certainly not mine *whistling innocently*]

Wham! were the first pop-group ever to have a concert in China. Even though the Chinese audience didn't understand a word George sang, they seemed to enjoy the rhythms and it didn't take long before they stood up and danced - even though some got punished for it.

[Comment: You know, they also made this video called "Foreign Skies" and there's this massage sequence in there... *pantering* George on his belly, wet curly hair, talking about... something... (for some reason I have no idea, apart from the fact that I've noticed he says "press" just as the person massaging him lays pressure on his lowe back, and me moans...) and every time this person puts pressure on him, he grunts. If you look carefully, well, actually, you don't even have to look carefully, you see the top of his bum...]

And of course there is George´s first solo single "Careless Whisper" released 1984. Lots of people thought of this as the kiss of death for Wham! as a group, but George didn´t mean for that to happen just yet. He was to release another solo single first - "A different corner."

Heart, pain, boo-hoo

This is a clip from the "CarelessWhisper" video...
[Comment: OK, this has a rather funny story to it, actually. One of the chicks (this one?) actually fainted as they frolicked in bed - when he was wearing just a tiny towel around his waist. She was 18. I know women at the age of 40 who would start hyperventilating just by the sight of him, so an 18-year-old fainting while he's pretending to shag her - I can actually understand. At least if she was a fan.]

The last Wham! concert took place at Wembley Stadium June 18th 1986. And after this - Wham! was history...
