In December 1999
we got "Within 18 months it will be out."
Sure...
We got the "big
news" in August 2000 that it was "right around the corner" and
"we'll probably see
a single by the
end of the year".
We even got a
title: "Amazing".
Nothing happened.
Maybe Christmas?
Don't think
so!
Then, all of a
sudden, nothing was due until at least October 2001.
So we waited.
Nothing.
Maybe for
Christmas, then?
Nope.
OK, so in January
we got the word of a single by the end of the month.
Hurrah!
Then the end of
February.
Then the
beginning of March.
It actually came!
Yay!
It was fun,
controvercy, video etc.
Then we had news
of of another single.
The rumour was
about him wanting to shoot a dog.
So he did, after
postponing it for half an eternity (hey, as a GM fan, a month
is forever!) it came in August.
It had the same
things as the last single: fun, controvercy, video.
Not extremely
successful, but he made a statement.
We still loved
him - apart from some American fans who told him where to
shove the Union Jack.
Then, album
around Christmas, we heard.
OK, so we wait.
Then Universal
broke the news: a month earlier!
As if anyone
actually believed that!
We know better,
we've learned!
Now there will be
another single first.
("Amazing"?)
My guess is: no
album this year.
Maybe next year?

January/February
is a bad idea, as people are still broke after Christmas, but
I've never understood his marketing people anyway - seriously,
who gives a single airplay a MONTH befor the single's out...?
"Thank you for
waiting" he said when Older came.
What will he
write this time? "Thank you for waiting some
more"?
Come on, man,
just get it out! (Preferably the album this
time...)
