George Michael.
It all started, I think, around x-mas in 1996. "Older" was re-promoted here in Norway and I was NOT impressed. (That's an understatement!) My brother-in-law was supposed to pick me up on x-mas day and drive me to their place so I could spend the day there. He had just got "Older" from my sister, and played it for me in the car. I remember looking at the pictures and listening to the CD thinking: "My God.. what is THIS?" I skipped from one song to the other without noticing any difference. I thought he looked like the devil himself on the cover, and was relieved when we were finally at their place. But the WHOLE day from around 11am until 10 pm he played the album. Even their GOLDFISH knew the lyrics to "Fastlove". Did I care? No. I just took a deep breath everytime I once again heard the beginning of "Jesus To A Child" and hoped the day would end soon. This was the 24th of December 1996.
Then things started happening. It was a cold day in 1997. The 4th of January. I believe it was a Monday. I was tired and was just watching some dull program on TV when the commercial came. Normally I don't pay attention to commercials at all, but then I heard (and SAW!!!) the following:
"I'm never gonna dance again, *WHAM! The Final!* guilty feet have got no rhythm... Club tropicana drinks are free...*The 80's BEST pop-duo with all their hits* I don't want your freedom...Last christmas I gave you my heart... Somebody tell me... *Wham!* Na-na-na-na-na-na-na, yeah, yeah, yeah... Wake me up before you go-go, don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo..." *Avaliable from the 6th of January*
Imagine me sitting in my sofa first catching George with THE look in "Careless Whisper", to him almost NAKED in "Club Tropicana", the cute boy from "Freedom", the GORGEOUS looking bloke in "Last Christmas", a long-haired version in "Everything She Wants", the hip-shaking moves in "The Edge of Heaven" and finally "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go". I was totally blown away. TOTALLY! I was drooling over the TV screen, and wondered WHERE that man had been all my life! After about ten minutes I crawled towards the phone and dialled my older sister who were young in the 80's and asked WHO that GORGEOUS guy from Wham! was. She laughed and asked where I had been for the past 10 years. I had NO idea who he could be, so I didn't get her point. When she said: "It's George Michael" I almost fell out of the chair I was sitting in! THAT was GEORGE MICHAEL??? The devilish looking guy singing "Fastlove" was the same adorable guy singing "Last Christmas" and "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go"?? I could not believe it.

Can you see where I'm coming from? What exactly is the similarity between the picture to the left and the picture to the right? Except maybe the nose??
Anyway, after this I bought everything with the name "George Michael" and "Wham!" printed on them.
Kenny Goss.
It doesn't stop here. I was (and am!) a George Michael fan. No doubt about that. But in August 1998 (I think) I saw this picture in a Norwegian gossip-magazine:
I didn't know what to say, other than "WOW!" and I remember thinking: "Oh, how nice. George is dating a young, handsome guy!" I thought Kenny was 25 TOPS and didn't believe for a minute that he was 39 years old! 6 years older than George!I still can't. The man looks younger than George at times! I don't have a problem understanding WHY George fell for him... or why Kenny fell for George.
