Department of Applied Physics

Head of The Department of Applied Physics: Mesfin Abayneh

The Department of Applied Physics is designed to produce graduates with the fundamental knowledge of physics. The students are trained to build a capacity to solve practical problems.

Students are expected to take a total of 140 credit hours including core courses elective and general courses. They will also have the options to choose either mathematics or chemistry as a minor. upon completing the course work students will be awarded "B.Sc. Degree in Physics (Science)

Graduates will have ample job opportunities in Energy, mining, Meteorology and Geo-Observatory Organizations; Engineering, Aeronautics and Manufacturing Industries; Research and teaching Institutions and other.
