Mia and Camilla sketch

Together with other handball stars in the Norwegian and Danish leagues Camilla Andersen and Mia Hundvin were invited to participate in Anja Andersen's event: Dream Team. The event was meant to give the sport of handball some PR. The event is takes place more than once, so the content can vary form evening to evening. Everything described here hasn’t been a part of the show every time.

These events used to be casual and contain many entertaining things during the handball match, as well as before and after.

During the match Camilla entertained with many trick shots and unconventional goals. She proved she’s an all round player, exciting, creative and technical. But Mia Hundvin did the most entertaining bit during the match when she scored a marvellous goal off her head.

However it was one of the sketches that got most attention.

Mia and Camilla performed one of many entertaining sketches of the evening: Mia is walking, on the arm of a man (actually the husband of handball player Sorina Theodorovic from Bækkelaget) when Camilla shows up. Suddenly Camilla gets down on one knee, asking Mia to marry her. Mia looks at the man, then at Camilla, and makes a decision. She dumps the man, using her foot to send him tumbling to the floor, after which she dances with joy alongside Camilla and then ...

Camilla asks Mia to marry her

... jumps into Camilla’s arms. No doubt about what her answer was! All this happens to the tune of "I want it that way", and ends with audience applause.

The sketch was marvellously performed and it was a big surprise that the Danish and Norwegian handball stars participated with a sketch like this.

Their sketch was fun, but was also a very brave thing to do.

Mia: "Yes!"

By this time it was publicly known that they were lovers in real life. The media had already been writing many stories about it, many of them in a disrespectful way. Even sports journalists in so-called serious media were more interested in their private life than their achievements during the Olympic handball matches. They were writing the same story over and over again, instead of telling how they had played in the previous match.

When keep this in mind, we are all the more impressed by the girls’ bold behaviour ...

... and of course, their courage. But they did it in their way!

A short time after Mia and Camilla entertained the handball audience with this original sketch they actually quietly married in Denmark. One week later the media found out, ending their quiet dramatically. But this is another story!
