David was born on September 21, 1972 in Bakersfield, California.
David started playing the drums when he was 9 years old.
David says he didn't have a bad childhood.
He didn't actually get his first drum kit till he was 13, and he learned most of what he knows now on his own.
When David was only 13 or 14, he had his mom drop him off to practice with the rest of the band. (Staci)
He always liked jamming with other people better than jamming alone.
Some describe David as the shy member of the band, but others say he's very social and outgoing.
He's played in the past with Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves.
David took the chance to join Munky, Head, and Fieldy when he was fourteen...just a wee freshman in high school. The other three were upperclassmen. Can we say death sentence? But hey, they were open enough to go for it, and look what happened!
Once L.A.P.D. had fallen apart, David worked at Pizza Hut.
David said he'd always liked playing drums, but he didn't take things seriously until Korn.
When Korn's self-titled album went gold, David was full of excitement. "We called our parents, and all the people that supported us from the beginning and told them. That was the best part."
For Life is Peachy, David laid down his tracks at a furious pace. "It was probably about 60 percent knowing what I was going to play and 40 percent just playing whatever came to mind at that moment. I laid down about 3 songs a day and finished all my tracks in 5 days. I don't think I did more than 3 takes on any of the songs I recorded."
David thinks Lollapalooza is "the coolest tour for a summer festival" and was just as ecstatic as the rest of the band to be on the list of bands for Lollapalooza 1997.
David's favorite song from Follow The Leader is "B.B.K." because he likes the groove of the song.
David's favorite anti-Fred and anti-Jonathan lines from "All In The Family" are when Fred calls Jonathan "Austin Powers" and bags on his teeth, and when Jonathan calls Fred a hillbilly.
If David could bring any 5 cds with him on a deserted island, they would be Filter's Shortbus, Blondie's Greatest Hits, Orgy's Candyass, Helmet's Meantime, and Weezer's Self-Titled (Blue Album.) He also would like to bring Korn's Follow The Leader.
If David could bring any 5 things from home when he's on the road, he'd bring: his refrigerator and all the food in it, his bed, and his dune-buggy. He'd like to bring everything.
David is credited with signing Orgy to Elementree because he's been a long time friend of the band.
David says Tommy Lee of Motley Crüe had a big influence on him.
David believes the use of drugs will hurt a band's chance of success.
David has done an ad for Calvin Klein.
David also appeared on the TV show, Martial Law.

David's ex-wife, Shannon, had the couple's first baby, David Jr., on August 22, 1997. She had their second, Sophia Aurora, on July 27, 1999.
David had surgery to remove an extra rib, which has been causing nerve problems in his arm and wrist for a few years. He had to drop off both legs of the Sick and Twisted tour and the Summer Sanitarium tour because he was unable to use his wrist. He came back for Untouchables and rocked it like usual.
People say that David looks like Curious George because of his small head.
Munky says David is really fun to party with.

David has his own sushi restaurant called "Tuna Town."
He doesn't put down other forms of music, like pop, just because he doesn't like them. He figures as long as the music makes someone happy, it's okay.
David is a fan of Pink, and has one of her gold albums hanging in his restaurant.

His pre-show rituals: he likes to peek at the crowd from backstage because it gets him excited, he stretches, uses his practice pad to warm up, and also makes sure to see if there's any worthy ladies outside for later in the evening.
David likes to romp on girls on his bus while they're driving through the city. He has subwoofers under the bed and also tinted windows that let him see out but no one else see in. He says it's a thrill.
David says he still feels like a kid at heart.
