4 December 2002 did Marthe the Frog discover somthing creepy. She had no more than 13 days left before the pemiere on Lord of the Rings 2. Looking forward to the premiere, there was only one problem - What to wear? This is a description of my first gown. |

| The first thing I did, was to semi
finish my corset. I could finally use it. Then, there was time to make
some plans. I decided to make a tudor'ish gown.
The skirt is open fronted, with a front closed bodice attached. The sleeves are separate, but sewn onto the smoch with a few stitches at the top. I wore a petticoat, and a forepart of the same fabric as the sleeves. Underneath, I wear my smock, and my corset. |

| For once, I didn't search
for autenticy, but used my imagination. This resulted in a bright red
cotton gown, with sleeves and forepart of syntetic chiffon.
The material for the gown is the cheapest cotton available. I used around 3 1/2 meter to make both the bodice and the skirt. Making the sleaves and the forepart took two metres of chiffon. |

| The skirt is not gored, but box pleated at the back. This was done to make the fabric stand out in order to make it look more expensive than it is. The front is not pleated. | |
