Lord of the rings
finished

I was not the only one who needed a costume. My brother also wanted to dress up. Together we made him a wizard costume.
The costume consists of:

Baggy "Turkish trousers". I found the pattern in the danish book "Tři, der er anderledes", "Clothing which is different" by Henie Harald Hansen.

A tunic with wide sleeves. I found this pattern in the same book. The tunic is the same as an Egyptian ghalabia.

We already had the cloak, but if you want to make one, I have put a good pattern here. The description is in Norwegian, but the drawing is eaily understandable. And it looks good.

The pattern for the tunic is almost the same as the one for my smock. Look at the picture of the gypsy dress, except for the bigger sleeves.
The pattern for the trousers could not have been m ore simple. The trousers consist of a square piece of fablric with legs attached. The legs has got a drawstring and is tied underneath the knees. There is also a drawstring at the waist.

We bought the cheapest cotton available. The width of the fabric was 1,5 metre. We sewed the fabric together at the sides. Suddenly we had a  1,5 metre broad bag. At the bottom of the bag, we cut two holes, where we fastened the two legs. Then we sewed all the drawstring channels.

Wgat must be remembered, is that the trousers will have to be broad enaugh. The point is to move liberately. A test may be to make sone fancy karate kid moves. If that is possible, the trousers are wide enaugh. If one of those karate kid kicks are difficoult, you should  insert a broader piece of fabric.

Ink is apporoximately 170 cm tall, og his trousers  are tree metres wide.
