Single Sound Load

The Question: I found some really nice sound edits at the Technote KN5000 web site. I would like to take some of the sounds from that disk and add them to the custom memory locations on the KN5000. How can I load just a single sound from the custom sound files on a disk into one of the custom sound memory locations of the KN5000?

First load the file that has the master sound files that you want to modify. Look at the custom sounds in the keyboard and decide which sound you want to replace and make a note of it's name and location. Then load the sound file from the disk that you want to take the sound from and make a note of the name and location of that sound. Then reload the file that has the sounds that you want to use as the master file.
Insert the disk that has the sounds that you want in the disk drive. Press the DISK button at the right of the keyboard and then select LOAD. Select the file that you want to take the sound from but DO NOT press LOAD.
Press PAGE to go to Page 3 of the LOAD menu. The first item shown at the top of page 3 is the Single Load Mode for Panel Memory. Press MODE at the top left to change the mode from Panel Memory to Sound Memory.
This is the page that is used to load a single sound from the floppy disk to one of the custom sound memory locations. On the bottom left scroll through the sounds on the disk until you find the sound that you want to move to the custom sound memory. On the bottom right, scroll through the custom memory locations until you find the sound that you want to replace. When you have the two selections made press LOAD to load the single sound to the custom memory.

If you want to load a complete bank (memory A for example) while leaving the other bank (memory B) the same, press the SINGLE button and it's function will change to BANK. In that mode you can load either bank A or bank B to the desired bank in custom memory.

Don't forget to save your new custom sound memory banks to your master sound file disk or to a new disk.
