Halibut Research

The halibut larvae have to be reared in a cold room at about 6 degrees.

Ingebjørg Modal (in blue), Renate Nilsen (in red) and the halibutlarvae (to the right in plastic). The picture is from a challenge test with Viral Encephalopati og Retinopati virus (VERV).

The newly hatched larvae have to be kept in total darkness. We use dim red lights when we daily control the fish.

6 single rooms.

The 7 mm larvae have plenty room in the 10 ml aquariums.
