The third Harry Potter Poster Released! Oct 18, 2001
![]() |
Warner Bros is proud to release to HarryPotter.com the third movie poster for upcoming and much anticipated movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. This is the third, and final, poster in a series of three. Unlike the previous "Teaser posters" this poster features all the primary characters from the upcoming movie.
TV Guide and Four Collector's Covers! Oct 2, 2001
|
TV Guide has produced four collector's covers
featuring: Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid, Emma
Watson as Hermione Granger and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley.
While the ages of three of the leading actors are 11, 12 and 13, the potential
of this movie is hardly child's play, as upon the shoulders of these children
sits the weight of a reported $125 million production - and a franchise worth
far more than that, given the mountains of merchandise and the fact that Rowling
intends to write seven Potter books in all. The Potter franchise already has 110
million books in print around the world and merchandising deals licensed by
Warner Bros. to more than 50 companies.
(I can't see the other collector's covers but check in later and see if there here then).
Find out about the Official Harry Potter Soundtrack! Oct 2, 2001
Atlantic Records, in association with
Warner Sunset and Nonesuch Records, has announced the upcoming release of
"HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE: ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE
SOUNDTRACK." The album - which features the film's magical musical score,
composed and conducted by multiple Academy Award and Grammy Award winner John
Williams - is due in stores on October 30th. The hugely anticipated Warner
Bros. Pictures release debuts in theaters across the U.S., Canada, and in the
U.K. on November 16th.
Warner Sunset/Atlantic/Nonesuch's "Special First Edition" CD release
of "HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE: ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE
SOUNDTRACK" will include an exclusive 8-panel fold-out color Harry Potter
poster. In addition, a Limited Edition "Downloadcard" will be
enclosed, enabling fans a chance to win one of many exciting prizes, including
Nimbus 2000 brooms (inspired by the one Harry rides in the film), a private
screening of the film, movie posters, and various other Harry Potter items. The
official Harry Potter website - for both the film and the book series - can be
found at www.harrypotter.com.
"HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE: ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE
SOUNDTRACK" was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London,
with Williams conducting a specially organized session orchestra, along with the
London Voices chorus. Best known for his unforgettable scores to such classic
films as Jaws, Star Wars, Schindler's List, Superman,
and the Indiana Jones trilogy, Williams has been the recipient of a stunning
array of awards, including five Academy Awards and 18 Grammy Awards. Williams
previewed his Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone score at a July 30th concert
with the Boston Pops Orchestra at Tanglewood. The Boston Globe 's Richard Dyer
praised "Hedwig's Theme," stating that it is "destined to be one
of Williams's greatest hits, an affectionately allusive tribute to great fantasy
music of the past - but in his own unmistakable voice; this parallels the way
Rowling's book stands on the shoulders of its predecessors like a nimble circus
acrobat about to grab a trapeze and fly away." Dyer goes on to praise the
composer/conductor's "masterly orchestration," noting that "the
whole thing glistens, surprises, and exhilarates."
"HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE: ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE
SOUNDTRACK" was produced by John Williams, and recorded and mixed by Simon
Rhodes. The Supervising Music Editor is Ken Wannberg. The Executives in Charge
of Music for Warner Bros. Pictures are Gary LeMel and Doug Frank. The Executive
in Charge of Music for Atlantic Records is Darren Higman.
