Mr and Mrs. Hedge-hog!

Let's start with Mr Hedge-hog

You will need , my selections, download them here. I have provided you with a buttontube in the zip as well.

If you want to use the same pant-tile as me, click right and save to your harddrive.

Let's start

Remember to save often!

1. Open a new image 400x554 transparent. Add a new layer, call it body. Selections>Load from disk sel. 1, I have given all the selections numbers from 1 to 20, as well as names in norwegian, but I will only refer to them with numbers here! Flood fill with #79570D. Next Selections>invert og and then Effects>3d Effects>Drop Shadow, with the settings below, colour black.

Deselect. Then Effects>Noise>Add 3% uniform.

2. Add a new layer, call it Quills of the Hedge-hog. Load from disk , sel.2, Flood fill with black. Deselect.

3. Add a new layer, call it Feets/ears. Load from disk sel. 3. Flood fill with #926910. Selections>invert and then Effects>3d Effects>Drop Shadow. Use the same settings as above, but change blur to 30 and colour to #443108. Deselect. Effects>Noise>Add 3% uniform

4. Add a new layer, call it pant-tummy. Load from disk sel. 4. Flood fill with the pant tile, or the one you want to use. Then Selections>invert and Effects>3d Effects>Drop Shadow. Same settings, but change Blur to 45, Opacity to 80 and coulour to #284838. Deselect.

5. Add a new layer, call it pant-straps. Load from disk sel. 5 Flood fill with #33604B. Then without deselecting, Selection>Modify>Contract with 2, then flood fill with the tile you used. Selections>invert and then Effects>3d Effects>Drop Shadow. Same settings, but change Blur to15. Deselect.

6. Add a new layer, call it legs. Load from disk sel. 6. Flood fill with the tile again. Selections>invert and then Effects>3d Effects>Drop Shadow. Same settings, but change Blur to 25. Deselect.

7. Add a new layer, call it pant-folds. Load from disk sel. 7. Flood fill with the tile. Selections>invert and then Effects>3d Effects>Drop Shadow. Same settings. Deselect.

8. Add a new layer, call it spade. Load from disk sel. 8. Flood fill with Linear Gradient, Metallic, angle 140. Deselect. Then Effects>Noise>Add 3% uniform, and Effects>3d Effects>Inner Bevel with these settings

9.Add a new layer, call it spadehandle. Load from disk sel. 9. Flood fill with #6F500D. Selections>invert and then Effects>3d Effects>Drop Shadow. Same settings as we have used all way, but change the Opacity back til 50, blur to 15 and colour black. Deselect. Effects>Noise>Add 3% uniform.

10. Add a new layer, call it arms. Load from disk sel. 10.Flood fill with #926910. Selections>invert and then Effects>3d Effects>Drop Shadow. Same settings, but change blur to 40 and colour to #443108. Deselect. Effects>Noise>Add 3% uniform.

11. Add a new layer, call it head. Load from disk sel. 11.Flood fill with the same colour and repeat what you did for the arms, but change the blur to 45 in the dropshadow.

12. Add a new layer, you need not call it anything, it is just a black marking in the face. Load from disk sel. 12, Flood fill with black, Deselect.

13. Add a new layer, call it mouth. Load from disk sel. 13. Flood fill with#9755553. Deselect.

14. Add a new layer, call it muzzle1. Load from disk sel. 14 Flood fill with#926910. Selections>invert og deretter Effects>3d Effects>Drop Shadow. Same settings as we have used all way, but change blur to 25 and opacity to 90. Deselect. Effects>Noise>Add 3% uniform.

15. Add a new layer, call it muzzle2. Load from disk sel. 15. Repeat the same for this muzzle.

16. Add a new layer, call it nose. Load from disk sel. 16. Flood fill with black. Then Effects>3d Effects>Inner Bevel, apply the preset settings for "Round" Deselect.

17.Add a new layer, call it eyes. Load from disk sel. 17. Flood fill with white. On the same layer, load from disk sel. 18, flood fill with #6F500D, on the same layer , load from disk sel.19, flood fill with black, still on the same layer load from disk sel. 20 Flood fill with white. Deselect. Then Effects>3d Effects>Drop Shadow with these settings, colour black

Then apply the same dropshadow again but change vertical and horisontal to 1 og Colour to white.

Then you drag this layer below the muzzle1 layer.

18. Make your spadelayer the active layer. Select your retouch-tool with these settings and add som dark shadow to your spade

19. Make your armslayer the active layer and with Draw-tool Bezier Curve, width 1, antialias checked, draw some markings for fingers and toes like what you see in the top picture.

20. Add a new layer on the top of your layerpallet, and add a button on each pant-strap

You are done with Mr. Hedge-hog...... hope you like him :-)
