Europe Internet Marketing

New category launched at Eurofind listing companies working with Internet Marketing in Europe.

Related new subcategories include Search Engine Optimisation Companies in Europe and Search Advertising Companies in Europe.

Eurofind released from Google sandbox?

After a SERP check today it seems that Eurofind - Europe Search Engine and Directory has done a leap in rankings for Google for searchterms I have been targetting for that site for a very long time.

The search phrases include:

europe business directory
europe business search
europe search
europe search engine
european business directory

On most terms I was not in the top 500, but now I am in top 10 for all these terms and it seem to have happend very recently. Last check I did was 5th. of June 2005.

302 Google Hijack Removal Guide

http://www.threadwatch.org/node/1940

How to Remove Hijacker Page Using Google Removal Tool

Page Hijack Exploit

An explanation of the page hijack exploit using 302 server redirects. This exploit allows any webmaster to have his own "virtual pages" rank for terms that pages belonging to another webmaster used to rank for.

Successfully employed, this technique will allow the offending webmaster ("the hijacker") to displace the pages of the "target" in the Search Engine Results Pages ("SERPS"), and hence

(a) cause search engine traffic to the target website to vanish, and/or
(b) further redirect traffic to any other page of choice.

Google buys Urchin

SearchNewz writes that Google buys webanalytics company Urchin for an undisclosed amount.

The logic behind the purchase seems very good. Google benefit from distributing this kind of tools more widely as they give facts to the desitionmakers in the boardroom.

In related story WebTrends is also sold

Technorati Tags

Interesting way of categorizing your posts and maybe get some additional viewers, but I was kind of suprised to see in the meta tags of the site that they had added meta tag: index, nofollow.

It might be to stop spammers to go crazy about this, but still it should have been a valuable resource for searchers too?

Google backlink update

Google has done a backlink update a few days ago and Eurofind now has 194 backlinks registered, 132 up from last time.

I dont know if this means the site will get a higher PR as I used to have a few high PR backlinks earlier that have gone dramatically down.

Neteffects went from 0 to 139!

Quicknet was up 10 from 36.

Results on Kjoekkenguiden after one day

After doing drastic changes to the keyword density on the fronpage of the site Kjkkenguiden, I manged to get the rankings out of the +1000 into a 537 ranking for the keyword "kjkken".

So it was a spam filter that threw me out of my previous range I had. Now I need to get fra 500+ to top 10 ranking. That is a difficult task ahead.

On a sitenote on this issue, I was considering doing a URL-ReWrite and use the script it is currently on (biz-directory) instead of changing to the new script I am currently building. This will save me some time for now.
