This CD came to life after a period when Magenta was put on ice
due to Anders priorities with Cadaver. The new label Re:pop Music,
in Germany, decided to sign Magenta after a meeting with them
in April 2001. We went straight home and looked through all our
material from 1998 - 2001 and knew we needed a producer to make
an album of it all.
Vegard Blomberg was called in and we had an intense period of
work during May - August 2001 with the recording and developing
of this album. The main idea of the album was to leave out all
the songs that sounded too cliché or too rock/pop oriented
and try to make a soundtrack to a film without the film. We think
this is the most long lasting thing we've done so far and advise
people to listen to it at least 50-60 times before forming an
opinion!
On this recording they managed to add 15 guests into the record
from a wide range of the Norwegian music scene, including: Chris
Rygg aka “Trickster G.” (Ulver, Arcturus),
Jonny Sjo (D'sound), Lasse
“Balvaz” Johansen (Cadaver), Ted
Skogmann (Apoptygma Berzerk), and Maniac
(Mayhem).
