We raced our first Vindelälvsdraget this year. We raced with team Alpen-Trail that won the race. We were 8 mushers on the team: Heini, Gerhard, Erwin, Uli, Volkmar, Lutz, Jørn and me. We had a lot of fun and a very nice race.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The main gold of the season was the World Championship in middistance in Cansiglio, Italy. It was some crazy trails and several mushers lost their teams. The first day I was of the trail with my team, but made it back on on track and safe to the finishline. The next two days the trail got worse and more icy as the weather was really warm and sunny, but now we knew the trail so we raced it without any trouble. We had good runs every day and finished as nr 1 and WORLD CHAMPION! Volker Brinkman got silver and Michael Link got bronze.

Alpen-Trail

This year Alpen-Trail we had a great time and the race got really exciting in Sexten. We were very happy to be in third position after the four first racedays, Lü is really hard on the dogs and me since se are not use to running on 2000m above sealevel. But by the time we get to Sexten we are in great shape. We surprised ourselves with first and second place in Sexten. The team performance in Sexten put us in a second overall position. We are so happy and proud of our young dogs Lea, Luke and Larissa that did an amazing job in this race.
