N E W S : Bush civil rights commissioner warns of detention camps for Arab Americans Bush's civil rights commissioner Peter Kirsanow, said
Americans would support detaining certain ethnic groups if terrorists
were to strike this country again. Kirsanow discussed the internment of
the Japanese in the United States during World War II and said that "if
there's another terrorist attack and if it's from a certain ethnic community...
that the terrorists are from, you can forget civil rights in this country,"
and declared that in the event of another terrorist attack on the US,
“not too many people will be crying in their beer if there are more
detentions, more stops, more profiling.” The Leadership Conference
on Civil Rights and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee said
in a letter to Bush, "Mr. Kirsanow appears to be condoning collective
guilt and seems open to the idea of the mass internment of an entire community,"
the letter said. 7/28/2002 --- Former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter has become the
most outspoken opponent the Bush Administration has to its seemingly imminent
invasion of Iraq. Ritter, who spent seven years in and out of Iraq, says
everything we are being told about Saddam's weapons program is a lie.
