Norway was invaded by Germany on April 9, 1940.
After just a week or two the Deutsche Wehrmacht came to the Justnes farm 8 km.
east of the city of Kristiansand, and started their work to establish a heavy
Flak anti aircraft battery. The soldiers and gun technicians from Luftwaffe
moved in to the farm house, and set up the commanders office in one of the
living rooms, and their sleeping area at the high attic. During the five years
of occupation Wehrmacht built approximately thirty bunkers and thirty barracks on the
land of the Justnes farm. Some of those are still there. On the picture you see
the Flakkommandant to the right, reading the local newspaper
Fædrelandsvennen. They are sitting in front of the farm house enjoying the nice
weather of summer 1940.
