CAST: Carlos Barbanegra - RIP

DESCRIPTION:

Carlos cuts rather an impressive figure with his long green robe, tall figure and full, lustrous black beard. This enviable appearance is marred by only two things: his nose, to which the observation 'crooked' would be a kindness, and the unnaturally vacant look in his eyes. He is easily distracted, and seems to find it difficult to keep his mind focused on one thing for any length of time. The reason behind this, as well as nearly all of his life prior to his first appearance in our story, remain a mystery.

HISTORY:

We first encountered Carlos in a dank tunnel somewhere beneath Castle Hare, into which the Wizard With No Name had transported himself. In fact, Carlos was unfortunate enough to be underneath said wizard when he appeared, something that cannot be said to have fostered a good relationship between the two. The inevitable struggle of powers was only delayed by Sir Confused-a-lot's even more sudden appearance, and Carlos could not hope to compete against the fastest staff in Hyeron. He was vanished by mistake, only to be rediscovered unconscious in a pool of CHOKLIT. When he eventually came round, he appeared to have undergone something of a change in personality, being now almost simple, though still possessed of formidable abilities. Agreeing to lead them out of the pool, he transported them to an unknown location, where he introduced them to the other devotees of his 'cause' -- Arkadij the nominal leader, Bertram the somnolent, and Leila. Carlos's devotion to his Cause seems almost forced, although we have yet to find out the reasons behind his joining up. Nonetheless, he accompanied Arkadij, Bertram and the others on their attack on the throne room, and is now presumed dead.
