The history of samoyedes
in my family:
My grandma grew up with
samoyedes. The arrived the smal town Fredrikstad int the years
1910-1920. Some of the dogs, like the one called Bjelki was for
certain imported from Siberia and left in Fredrikstad from some
of the ships who sailed by there. The pictures are taken in the
time span 1912-1922. My grand-grandma and grand-grand-pa vere
samoyede breeders and had at least two litters of pure bred samoyedes.
The puppies vere sold to people in the area around Fredrikstad,
but at least one lived in the capital, Oslo. There is a possibility
that some of theese dogs are on breeding lines behind my own dogs
today, but this cannot be verified.

Bamse son of Sonja and Bjelki, I think. He was a small dog.

Bjelki was regarded as a beautiful dog, but he was also described
as a wild dog.
My family liked to show him on pictures, but he was not always
al docile as you see here

Bjekli sitting in the sun in my familys garden. He has a lovely
samoyede smile,
some would say a little big ears? But his eyes are neatly "chinese"
I think

Bjelki had a long, strong nose, he surely would easily chew big
bones and frozen meat

Here, a little samoyede family is pictured. They are Sonja and
bjelkie and their young son Blanc

Blanc went to Oslo with a member of my family who lived there.
Here, he is a puppy, of course

My grandma pictured with her favorite samoyede, of which she spoke
every time I visited her.
The dos is Sonja, a kind, good natured dam, the mother of two
litters.

A litter of puppies together with their parents, about 1920. Sonja
and Bjekli, the parents, are in either side of the picture

My family tok their samoyedes out for a walk quite often
