LIV NOME

"Ascending music is a key to peace and joy!"

Liv Nome
Vocalist, artist and composer. Born in Kristiansand in Norway, lives at Nesodden by the Oslo Fjord.

As a child she was for several years active in the classical choire Schola Cantorum in Kristiansand as 1.soprano, and studied piano as well. She is also educated in overtonesinging, and has for many years used this technique active for developing the voice and the free float of the vocal.

Liv was vocalist in the cabaretband Bella Devas until 1997, and then moved from the popularmusic to the production Skôp which is a soundscape made in a “soundroom” in the subway-system of Oslo. In this minimalistic production her wish to create huge, pulsating soundscapes was fulfilled.

She travelled to India and Nepal , and later for long periods to Sentral and South-America. In this period her inner wish to free creation of music and art was established.

In 2004 she started working with Dan Rial at Xejome studio in Guatemala. Here her voice again opened into free expression within the World Music genre, and this led to Vulcan Project.

Since then she has worked with the musical projects Varde and Vulcan project 2.

She is inspired by the pulse in the nature, the pulse in the breath, the waves in music and in the life in general.

Ascending music is a key to peace and joy!
